Safety Patrol is a club for 5th grade students. The goal of the Safety Patrol is to improve safety during morning arrival. Patrols are stationed around the school to help remind students of the Centerville rules. Members were selected for their courtesy, dependability, interest in helping others, and respect for others.
This leadership opportunity is for 5th grade students that have been nominated by their 4th grade teacher the year before and/or recommended by their 5th grade teacher as students that show leadership abilities, compassion for younger students, sense of responsibility, dependability, and commitment.
Student Council is comprised of 5th grade students and there are four officer positions and two classroom representatives per 5th grade classroom. The officers positions are President, Vice President, Secretary, and Historian. The election of this council provides students with an opportunity to be actively involved in our country’s democratic process both as candidates and as those casting votes for potential leaders.
Running Club takes place on Wednesday afternoons immediately after school. It will officially start on Wednesday, October 19th and end on March 22nd. The club is for 4th and 5th grade students that enjoy running and exercising. Students participating in the running club will take part in distance running throughout the school campus, agility drills, sprinting activities, stretching and running games. Participants of the running club will learn about proper running and stretching techniques as well as setting a proper running pace. The activities will be fun yet strenuous.

Performing Arts Club
The Performing Arts Club is an auditioned group that combines Chorus and Drama. Club members meet after school to develop vocal technique and acting skills. Club members have the opportunity to perform in holiday and spring musicals.

Junior BETA Club
The National Beta Club recognizes high academic achievement, promotes character and social responsibility, encourages service involvement to school and community, fosters leadership skills, and provides settings for each child to develop interpersonal skills.The Junior Beta Club recognizes academic achievement and citizenship and provides opportunities for service to the school and community. Junior Beta is open to 5th grade students who: earned all A’s and B’s and Conduct grades of S or better all through 4th grade and were recommended by their 5th grade teacher.
National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS)
National Elementary Honor Society is an national group that honors academic excellence in fourth and fifth grade. Students are invited to join based on their grades the prior year (75% A’s and the rest B’s, all E’s and S’s). Potential members filled out an application and were selected based on their demonstration of leadership, scholarship, responsibility, and service. The organization will participate in a service project each year.
